My Cell Phones and Privacy Opinion

A legitimate use for a prepaid cell phones is for people who can't afford a continuous plan. A prepaid phone gives less fortunate people the access to a cell phone. Some people can't agree to a continuous plan because maybe they don't have a steady job with a steady income so they are unsure if they can pay a future bill. I think that prepaid phones should be controlled by the government though. Some people may think that it's an invasion of privacy for tracking people, but I don't think that should be a problem. If you aren't doing anything wrong then you shouldn't be worried where the government thinks you are. The government will only locate the only committing crime.

  1. I don't think pre-paid phones should be controlled by the government. There is no need for them to do this. If the government really wants to find you they will. It doesn't have to be through your phone. I do agree that it gives less fortunate people the opportunity to have a phone.

  2. I agree that pre-paid phones can give those with a limited income access to cellular technology in a way that monthly contracted plans may not. I also think that if you are using a pre-paid phone for legitimate reasons you do not need to worry if it is registered or not.

  3. I agree that prepaid phones should be allowed. Many people don't realize how expensive the other phone plans are. However, I disagree with you in the case of the government having the capabilities to track the phone calls. Personally, I would feel uneasy if the Government had the capability of listening to my conversations.
